- After 3.dxe5 Ng4 Black regains the pawn with …Ngxe5 or …Bc5 and quick development.
- The knight on g4 and the c5-bishop generate real threats against f2 if White is careless.
- White's safest edge comes from calm development (Nf3, Nbd2, e3) keeping the extra space.
